I was the kid who actually took candy from a stranger. My memoir, Clockwork Carnage, is about the lasting effects of sexual violence in an otherwise boring, conservative, Christian childhood. The book is set during the two years I played roller derby after graduating from Wheaton College. Through the derby persona of Clockwork Carnage, I traded knee-length skirts for fishnet tights but could not out-skate Complex PTSD.
After eight years and as many full drafts, I’m ready to get this memoir out into the world. I’m so excited to try and figure out this next step. Wish me luck!
