About the Memoir

I was the kid who actually took candy from a stranger. My memoir, Clockwork Carnage, is about the lasting effects of sexual violence in an otherwise boring, conservative, Christian childhood. What do you do when your childhood religion cannot withstand the reality of your childhood? I tried playing roller derby. Through the derby persona of Clockwork Carnage, I traded knee-length skirts for fishnet tights but could not out-skate Complex PTSD.

After nine years and as many full drafts, I’m ready to get this memoir out into the world. Wish me luck!
